LOVE ETC...

MUSEE BARGOIN - CLERMONT FERRAND

23 NOVEMBER 2020 - 25 APRIL 2021

For this new edition of the FITE, the theme LOVE ETC. leads the festival, which is intended to present heritage pieces and contemporary creations that highlight reflections linked to the problems of the contemporary world.

The exhibition organised at the Bargoin Museum within the framework of the festival is an original choice of "extra ordinary" textile works and photographs selected in relation to a theme and coming from around thirty lenders, artists, collectors, public institutions and galleries.

LOVE ETC. is an invitation to consider love in the broadest sense of the theme, from the individual to the collective, with a view to combining current societal issues and the textile field. More than 80 works are to be discovered in a scenography that leaves the visitor free to create his or her own path within the exhibition and that gives a real place to orality by proposing interviews with the artists, collectors and curators.

Feeling, emotion, action, way of being, of seeing the other and others, it is an opening, an attitude, a way of being in the world. To love is to pledge benevolence and generosity, to wish for good, to act in the world and to think collectively. Love is a creative power that allows us to reflect on the world based on difference and not on identity. This edition of the FITE is tinged with African influences. Thus in 2020 Clermont-Ferrand becomes the active city of the meeting between Europe and Africa. In 2021, the FITE will fly to Senegal.
